Once outside of the Dallas metroplex, Central Texas, with seemingly endless cattle ranches and treeless vistas, might not be on your personal bucket list, but it should be. The terrain is rugged and beautiful, starkly contrasting to many of the venues on the Spartan schedule. No matter where you train, Central Texas represents a challenge for technical running, managing hydration, and dealing with unusual terrain that is starkly different from many other parts of the country.
